Doug Brady
Client Strategist
AKA “Bighearted Brady“
A dedicated and experienced professional, Doug spends time getting to know each of our partner schools well. He then puts that institutional knowledge to use developing unique plans designed to exceed their goals.
Doug’s background includes 15 years of working in the admissions departments of various private and public colleges, serving as the Director of Admissions for the last two schools. In these roles, he was responsible for overseeing recruitment teams, establishing strategic recruitment plans, developing search strategies, and building communications plans. Accustomed to collaborating with departments across campus to achieve specific goals for an array of programs and initiatives, Doug has seamlessly transitioned to working closely with team members throughout Spark451.
Holding a BS from Old Dominion University and MFA from Radford University, Doug is dedicated to giving back to the community. One of his commitments has been to sit on the board of the Youth Mentors of the Pee Dee, a program designed to help children in single-parent households throughout the northeast region of South Carolina.
How did you choose your profession/why?
As I graduated college, the economy was entering a recession. I had been a tour guide at my alma mater, and was told to apply for an open admissions counselor role. I fell in love with admissions work and helping students and families make such a major decision in their lives.
What’s one thing everyone needs to know about Spark451 and why?
Even when I worked on a campus, I knew Spark451 was a thought leader in the industry. I want people to know that Spark451 embodies the word “partner.” It is a truly collaborative company that is not afraid to innovate in the name of solving problems.
What is your favorite quote? Why?
“Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.” – Abraham Lincoln
I love this quote because it speaks about creating action. Control what you can and get moving. Just hustle!
Beach vacation or city vacation and why?
Beach vacation for me! I love the ocean and the escape the beach provides. The fresh sea air always helps me stay grounded and provides me with perspective.
