Amanda Miller
Client Strategist
AKA “Mindful Miller“
Amanda Miller comes to Spark451 with in-depth experience in enrollment management. In her previous positions, she has contributed to enrollment goals by developing communications streams, launching blogs, creating SEO content for websites, and managing admissions events. As a Client Strategist, Amanda helps our partner institutions drill down on their brand identity and differentiators, so they can truly stand out and enroll the students who are right for them.
Amanda holds a B.A. in English Literature from Agnes Scott College (go Scotties!) and an M.A. in English Literature from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. When not at work, you can find Amanda out for a run along the Lakefront Trail in Chicago, at an art exhibit, or curled up on her couch with a new book. Fun fact: Amanda has been a pescatarian for over 20 years!
What do you love most about working in higher education and why?
I love being in an environment that values learning and growth, and higher education is the epitome of that. As a Client Strategist, it's incredibly rewarding to play a part in helping our partners shape the future of their institutions through the students they enroll.
How has your own college education directly translated to success at Spark451 and why?
My background in English literature has honed my ability to think critically and creatively about how to craft compelling narratives. Having a holistic approach to storytelling allows me to help schools ensure that each touchpoint tells a story that will resonate with their audience.
What is your favorite quote? Why?
“YOU are the product. You — feeling something.” It’s a quote from Mad Men, one of my favorite shows. It might seem strange that my favorite quote is about marketing, but it has really resonated with me throughout my career — I used to have it on a sticky note above my desk! It reminds me that at its root, marketing is about making an emotional connection through effective storytelling.
Where is the place you want to visit most in the world and why?
It changes all the time. Lately, I’ve been fixated on visiting India, particularly the state of Goa. The architecture has a blend of Indian and Portuguese influence that is just stunning, and the food there sounds amazing.
