Cristian Pineda

Joining Spark451 with directly related hands-on experience in college marketing, Cristian is well-equipped for success in his position. While earning his communications degree, this former Red Dragon held an internship assisting the Marketing Director of SUNY Cortland with graduate program campaigns that were very similar to the work we execute. Now, Cristian puts his knowledge to use collaborating with various internal departments, ensuring his clients’ goals can be fulfilled smoothly and consistently.
A dedicated athlete, Cristian has spent most of his life as a lacrosse player. In fact, you can still find him on the field playing to win!
How did you choose your profession/why?
I chose this profession because it was something that I had a passion for. I’ve always found campaigns, marketing tactics, and advertisements to be interesting and I appreciate the idea that there are so many different ways to achieve a variety of goals for clients.
How has your own college education directly translated to success at Spark451 and why?
In college, I was lucky enough to intern directly under the Marketing Director for SUNY Cortland, which allowed me to see firsthand what it would be like to work in this field. In addition, through my master’s courses in public relations at Hofstra, I learned about an array of campaign and advertisement tactics that can be implemented in the real world.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given and why?
The best piece of advice came from my mother. When I was very young, she told me to stop worrying about what other people think and enjoy life, because it is way too short. I’ve always loved that advice and hearing it at a young age let me live my life unapologetically, always striving to be true to myself.
When you aren’t busy being a Sparkler, what is something that you like to do and why?
I enjoy playing video games with friends in my spare time. We play several different games and it has helped keep us together over time. No matter how far any of us may move away, we always stay in touch this way.
