In her position as a finance associate, Shavon develops project pricing and customer contracts, ensures project profitability and quality, works with vendors to keep projects on track, optimizes production processes, and so much more. And her role is a perfect fit, enabling Shavon to put her skills in mathematics, problem solving, communication, and analytical thinking to use every day.
This Adelphi University Panther, who is currently on track to earn her MS in business analytics, has previous experience in accounting, business, finance, and marketing. Just don’t look to catch her too early in the morning — Shavon is a self-proclaimed night owl!
What do you enjoy most about your position at Spark451 and why?
What I enjoy most about my position is that I am surrounded by creative and supportive people. The work environment is relaxing and there is constant communication with my team. I also enjoy being able to help and build my understanding of how a business operates from a marketing perspective.
How did you choose your profession/why?
Ever since I was young, I always loved working with numbers. I really enjoy analyzing numbers and finding different ways to create strategic decisions based on the outcome in order to help a business grow and become successful.
Which decade do you love the most and why?
My favorite decade would definitely be the 1990s. I love everything about that era: the fashion, music, and television shows.
What is one super power you’d want to possess and why?
If I had one super power, it would be teleportation. I wouldn’t have to walk, drive, or fly anywhere. It would save so much time.
